Meet the team: interview with Tess Bezemer

Tess is one of our food curators. Born and raised in the Netherlands, she uses her nutrition expertise to bring healthier lunch experiences daily to our guests. Join us in this interview and learn how she’s helping us change the catering industry step-by-step.

Join Program: Tess, it’s great to have you here today. Let’s dive right in. What sparked your passion for the intersection of nutrition and health?

Tess Bezemer: I’ve been passionate about food for over ten years. With my background in nutrition and cooking, I find it very rewarding to help people eat well and lead healthy lives. I’m always fascinated by how our food affects our overall well-being.

Join Program: Can you tell us more about what you do on the Food Curation team? For example, what motivates your work and some of the things you focus on, like how you make our meals more nutritious?

Tess Bezemer: Absolutely. I became part of the team a little over a year ago to ensure that the food we serve not only tastes good but also benefits your health. My main responsibility is to source healthy ingredients to make creative and delicious meals and to look at the macronutrients. I like to play around with different herbs, spices, and vegetables to make every bite you take as healthy as possible.

Join Program: As part of your job, you must teach your coworkers about healthy eating habits and how to care for their health. How do you do this in an easy way for them to understand?

Tess Bezemer: Sharing knowledge is essential, and I strongly believe in it. As a nutrition and health enthusiast, I often discuss these topics with my colleagues to spread awareness about the importance of what we consume. My goal is to encourage people to make conscious choices about their diet and lifestyle, ultimately leading to healthier, sustainable, and happier lives.

Join Program: One of our goals is to make sure everyone has access to healthy and nutritious food. I’m curious to know more about how the daily lunches provided by Join Program contribute to this vision. Can you explain it in simpler terms?

Tess Bezemer: Sure! Every day, Join Program makes it easier for people to eat healthy and sustainable food for lunch. This isn’t just any meal; it’s a step towards creating a better world where everyone can access nutritious food and understand its importance. By making healthy choices at work, people can also make healthier choices at home.
